4.1 Learning Resources
Goals For This Week
- To define mastery-based assessment
- To plan for mastery-based grading implementation
The Process of Mastery
As you develop policies and procedures, consider:
- Efficiency: How can you see, quickly, that student work shows understanding?
- Avoiding Bottlenecks: What will students do while they wait for your help?
- Grading: What do you actually need to grade, and how will you do it?
- Must-Do’s 80%, Should-Do’s 90%, Aspire-to-Do’s 100%
- Must-Do’s 100%, Should-Do’s/Aspire-to-Do’s extra credit
