Intermediate Teacher – Ethel Gardiner

What do you love most about your job?

I love interacting with students, having meaningful conversations, solving real life problems in a safe classroom setting, being a safe person for students and staff (mental health first aid), creating a fun and inclusive learning environment where I can see students grow/try new things. Encouraging students to chase and work towards their dream.

What is a challenge you face?

I face burnout as I always give a lot to my students. Dealing with challenging behaviours in the class.

What is a recent tiny victory, quick win that you would like to celebrate today?

A “thank you” from a struggling student.
